Celebration of friendship at Luxembourg’s Russian School
(JB) Youngsters at Luxembourg's Russian School, Kalinka, held a lively celebration of friendship when they gave an end of year show on Saturday.
Penguins, sailors and national dress were among the fun and colourful costumes worn by the children for the concert, dubbed “Children of the world are friends”, hosted at the Lycée des Arts et Métiers, in Limpertsberg.
The concert featured art work, singing and dancing, which the youngsters had prepared for throughout the year.
"This concert means a lot to us. We chose the concept 'Children of the world are friends', because children's friendship is a sincere and warm feeling that knows no boundaries and language barriers. It is also a feeling that we often miss as adults," said Anna Radishevskaya, Director of the school.
There are thought to be around 5,000 Russian nationals living in Luxembourg.
The Kalinka Russian School teaches a range of disciplines including reading and writing in Russian, speech and musical spirit, drawing, chess, dance and Russian culture. Today it has over 160 students aged from 3 to 12.
