RUSSIAN BALL IN LUXEMBOURG: THE ART OF CHARITY

5th Russian Charity Ball, by right considered one of the most prominent social events in the Grand Duchy, was held on January 16, 2016 in the Cercle Cité.

Russian Ball is not only about dances, it is a ritual. Exceptional solemn atmosphere, beautiful music, etiquette, long dresses, sparkling jewelry and tuxedos provide a great opportunity to feel as a part of a swell society.

Ball is organized under the patronage of Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Internal Security of Luxembourg Etienne Schneider and Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Russia in Luxembourg Mark Entin.
East-West United Bank acted as one of the traditional sponsors of this annual event that gathers the pearls of Luxembourg society.

Russian Ball in Luxembourg is famous for its generosity - all raised funds are transferred to the Russian Charitable Foundation "Sunflower" (Moscow) and the well-known Luxembourg association SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde.
In the four previous years the organizers of the Russian Ball managed to collect 180,000 euros for charity.

Entertainment program of this anniversary Ball was delightfully diverse. The evening began with energetic quadrille performed by the pupils of Russian school "Kalinka". Ukrainian diva Arina Domski, Russian singer Rustam Shtar, folk group from Voronezh “Russian soul” and French orchestra “Chic Planet” enchanted the audience with their performances. Exquisite menu of the Michelin star chef of Luxembourg Renato Favaro (Favaro Ristorante & More) satisfied even the most demanding gourmands.
The auction became one of the vivid and memorable events of the evening. The collages made by children undergoing treatment at the Department of Clinical Immunology of the Russian Children’s Hospital stood out among the numerous lots. Little patients assembled piece by piece portraits of the greatest Russian ballerinas: Plisetskaya, Ulanova, Vaganova and Krasavina. Children of different ages participated in the crafting with the same level of enthusiasm. And the result of their effort was highly impressive - the most distinguished guests of the Ball desired to purchase these masterpieces.
The success of the Ball always depends on hosts of the event. Famous Russian actress Irina Bezrukova and popular in Luxembourg newscaster Gabriel Buasante were invited to host this year’s charity Ball.
This exclusive event attracted attention of journalists and photographers that represent key Medias in Luxembourg such as Luxembourger Wort, Tageblatt, Le Jeudi and etc.
All the Guests mentioned remarkably warm, festive and unique atmosphere of Russian Ball. Looking forward to Ball number 6!
